Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

What's the difference between a frost-free hose bib and a regular one?

A frost-free bib puts the shutoff well back inside the heated wall, so the exposed part drains empty. A standard bib holds water right at the outside face. That's why one splits in a cold snap and the other doesn't, assuming nothing's left attached to the spout.

Does leaving a hose connected really matter?

Yes, and it's the single most common reason a frost-free bib fails anyway. The hose traps water in the barrel so it can't drain back, and the split happens inside the wall where you won't see it until spring pressure finds it.

How do I shut off water to a barn or shop separately?

Most outbuilding runs have a dedicated valve, often in a buried box near the branch or just inside the building. If nobody can find yours, having it located and labeled is worth a visit on its own, because otherwise a break out there means shutting down the whole property.

Is a pressure tank needed if I'm on a well and a cistern?

Almost always, since a cistern gives storage but no pressure. The tank and pump set the pressure your fixtures see. Systems combining both have more failure points than a plain well, so a leak or pressure complaint gets diagnosed at the tank first.
