Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

Who owns the sewer lateral running from my house to the main?

The homeowner does, in almost every case, from the foundation out to the connection in the street. The public side stops at the main. If a camera finds a break under the sidewalk, that's still on your side of the line, and the repair usually needs a permit before anyone opens the pavement.

Where is my main water shutoff likely to be?

Look first where the supply enters the house, which in older Boise homes means a basement wall on the street side. Newer places built out toward Eagle usually put it in the garage or a utility closet. There's also a curb stop in a box near the sidewalk, but that one belongs to the utility and is meant for their key, not yours.

My water pressure feels too high. Is that a real problem?

It can be. High static pressure shortens the life of supply lines, fill valves and the water heater, and it's a common reason a toilet keeps running. A pressure regulator handles it, and regulators do wear out, usually quietly over years rather than all at once.

Do I need to shut anything off before I leave for a long trip in winter?

Closing the main and opening a low faucet to drain the risers is the standard precaution, and it takes a minute. Keep the heat on low rather than off. Homes on the bench with long crawlspace runs benefit the most from that.
