Common questions

How much does a plumber cost?

It depends on the job and how bad the problem is. That is why the first step is a phone call. Describe the problem and get your free estimate on the phone, with upfront pricing.

Will I talk to a real person?

Yes, you will.

Do I need to fill out a form?

No forms and no waiting on emailed quotes. One phone call is all it takes.

Can I get help at night or on a weekend?

We have plumbers ready to help families in the community 24/7, but moment-to-moment availability depends on demand. Call to find out how soon we can service your home.

Should I wait to call?

You already know that plumbing problems don't go away on their own. And waiting just increases the risks to your house. Plumbers see this hesitation all the time. Instead of regretting not calling earlier, just make that 2-minute call now and get your free estimate.

People also ask

My pump turns on and off every few seconds. What's wrong?

That's short-cycling, and the usual cause is a waterlogged pressure tank that's lost its air charge or a failed bladder. The pump is doing far more starts than it was built for. It needs looking at quickly, because the cycling does the damage rather than the low air itself.

How do I know if my water is coming from a well or the city?

If there's a meter box at the curb and a monthly water bill, it's city water. A well shows up as a pressure tank somewhere in the house or an outbuilding, plus a pump breaker in the panel. Some properties near Notus have both, with the well left on irrigation only.

Does a well system need a different kind of water heater?

Not usually, but well water often carries more mineral and sometimes iron, which builds inside the tank faster. Any sediment or filtration ahead of the heater has to be maintained, since a clogged filter starves the heater and looks exactly like a failing unit.

Will my insurance cover a burst pipe?

It depends on the policy and on what caused the failure, and only your insurance provider can tell you. Contact them before repairs where you can, since most carriers want the damage documented. Keep photos and any written findings from the plumbing work.
